- Description
A journey of self-discovery where you can explore your needs, desires, fears, and obstacles that keep you from reaching your potential. It helps you analyse your true identity. Through this program, you will be able to understand your purpose, set goals in your life, and achieve them with the support of your action plan. During the week-long duration of this introspective experience, you will.
An unforgettable 8-day experience from Saturday to Saturday. We usually gather the group on the first day to start our slowdown process and resume the walking part of the program the following day. A small group of like-minded people walking towards the best version of ourselves.
- Walk the final stretch of the epic pilgrimage route.
- Revise your current moment in life, clarify your ideal future, align your purpose with your vision and create an action plan.
- Meet like-minded people on the same path of self-development.
- Dynamics
We use our flagship program – Destination You – that has passed the test of time. Since 2015 almost 1000 people have embarked on such a unique journey towards the best version of themselves. A trustworthy space to gain control over your life, clarify your ideal future, align your purpose with your vision and create an action plan.
- Activity level
- Average of 15-18 Km per day, depending on the group fitness.
- Suitable for anyone fit and healthy.
- No specific walking experience is required.
- Route layout
You will walk in The Vía de La Plata, an ancient pilgrimage path that crosses the west of Spain from south to north. Our Route starts in Ourense and will take us to, Oseira, Dozón, Bendoiro, Bandeira, and Boqueixón just before we reach Santiago de Compostela.
Our accommodations have been selected among local partners that provide an experience that reinforces the mentoring and exercises we are doing every day. Sometimes you will have marvellously simple meals and others simply marvellous gastronomic experiences. We offer moments that range from sleeping alone to experiencing the opportunity to go deep into your thoughts, moments to sleep in double rooms to share the experience, and in one of the days, in a private Albergue to live the true pilgrim approach staying in a dormitory altogether.
Together with like-minded people, you will live a mixture of companionship, unusual lodging, fantastic meals, and endless walks. The end of each program points to the beginning of a new cycle in life. Each step brings you closer to a more autonomous and intentional life.
- Itinerary
The group gathers inside the walls of Santiago for a welcome dinner of traditional Spanish food.
This will be the opportunity to give each participant all the materials for our journey, reinforce the logistics, gear, etc., and get ready to start early morning the next day. ATTENTION – Tonight´s Lodging is at each participant’s discrection. We leave below a few options to facilitate the booking process:
- Hotel Rosa Rosae is just 5m from the train station, where we will start the next day early in the morning, which is very convenient.
- Hotel Virxe da Cerca is a little bit further away but also very nice and convenient.
- Hotel Alda San Carlos is also close to the train station.
- Lodging: Oseira Monastery (Hospedaria) – Single room
On your first day, we will gather the group at the Santiago de Compostela train station and take an early train to Ourense, where we will start our walk towards Oseira Monastery. You will take the time to reflect on the different aspects of your current situation. The exercise will take a 360-degree “polaroid” of your life and create a picture of where you now stand.
- Lodging: Oseira Monastery (Hospedaria) – Single room
The second exercise is an invitation to disconnect totally and use the opportunity to dig deeper into yourself and look back in your life. What you learn from your history will help you craft your future.
We start today with a beautiful path between the Mediterranean maquis – a mix of trees and shrubs that don’t grow much above our heads, perfect to look inside our own strengths and weaknesses. The smells can be amazing, and it helps you to look inside. After a while, we reach a valley with agricultural fields, pastures, and the perfect setting to look outside and to the future.
The Personal Inventory exercise will help you through your own personal SWAT analysis. Lunch meets us en route with the most authentic picnic. We stay in a simple and welcoming Hostal, but the real treat is our host’s restaurant, where we’ll eat real local food from the garden to the table with delicious Spanish beer.
- Lodging: Pazo de Bendoiro – single room
Today, you will experience a visioning exercise. You will identify and describe how you idealize your life at a specific point in the future. We have a light walk through quaint villages and beautiful countryside; sometimes, the crows accompany us for a while.
Bendoiro is an old Pazo, a little piece of heaven – and just the place to envision your ideal future. Here, you will feel pampered – the food is an amazing cross between contemporary and classic Galician, always supported by the best local ingredients, with amazing local wines by small producers. You’ll have beautiful gardens, century-old rooms with fireplaces, and countless corners for you to work on your exercise.
- Lodging: Casa Cacheiro (Rural Tourism Category A) – Single and Twin rooms
Now that you have imagined your future, you will build a bridge from your vision back to the present. This will provide you with the momentum for the decisions you must make and also the opportunity to align it with your purpose.
The landscape keeps changing, but somehow the walking becomes more natural. Another beautiful country manor awaits us and in Bandeira, we will have another real food experience, just like a local.
- Lodging: Reina Lupa (Hospedaria) – Bunk Beds/ Mixed Dormitory
After selecting the outcomes you are committing to in the previous exercise, you are ready to detail your Action Plan. This is the program’s final kilometer and the beginning of a new stage in your life. To have a real feel of a pilgrimage, we sleep in a private Albergue this night – so you graduate as a true walker of the Camiño. We are welcomed by the owner, who will also be our cook, so you should be ready for a traditional and abundant meal, just like the locals.
- Lodging: Small Hotel (Twin and Single Rooms)
The final exercise takes place with your Action Plan already in motion. Fine-tuning and feedback loops become your new norm. Arriving in Santiago is always a riveting experience. The arriving pilgrims’ throbbing energy mixes with the university students’ fiesta, and the party seems to be ongoing. Immense joy, a feeling of overcoming and satisfaction, mixes with all the stimulus of countless languages, street artists, and restaurants. Reaching the Obradoiro, the large plaza below the Cathedral, we reach the end of our way. But our program is at its apex. We stay close to Obradoiro, and this night, the dinner is almost a private group event – with special toasts to the new and old friends you will have made along the Camiño.
You are free to book your departure anytime. Safe travels!
